POSITION SUMMARY: The Psychiatric NP is responsible for providing psychotherapy, medical evaluation, and medication management to a range of clients having substance abuse, mental health, and co-occurring disorders under the supervision of consulting psychiatrist(s) and the medical director.


  • Provide health and physical assessments, psychiatric evaluation, and medication assessments for patients. Develop individual treatment plans based upon aggregate assessment data and provide therapeutic interventions as necessary.
  • Provide consultation and health education to an interdisciplinary team of physicians as well as patients when needed.
  • Maintain documentation of services rendered, treatment plans, progress notes, and medication consultations in compliance with PPOA policies and procedures regarding the electronic health record system (EHR).
  • Complete other responsibilities required to provide clients with high quality, safe, and effective medical and psychiatric care.


  • Licensed as Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas
  • Five years' experience in the field of Chemical Dependency is preferred
  • Two years' experience as a Psychiatric/Mental Health Practitioner is preferred
  • Must have a valid Texas Drivers License
