Overview

Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established and growing multidisciplinary integrated healthcare organization. We have multiple locations in both Texas and Florida with our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL.

We are looking for a medical records clerk to join our Fletcher team. The medical records clerk handles requests by patients, providers, and attorneys for medical records while remaining compliant with HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Compile, process, and retrieve medical information in clinics and/ or offices of physicians in accordance with the PPOA policy and procedures
  • Provide support providers by verifying information received via fax, phone, email and mail and processing requests with 48 hours
  • Review and maintains medical records for completeness and accuracy
  • Assists in completing subpoena requests and affidavits
  • Completes billing process when required for medical record copies
  • Operates computer to enter and retrieve data and any other types of correspondence required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Medical Record Management
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA standards, medical terminology, and coding
