Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established and growing multidisciplinary integrated healthcare organization. We have multiple locations in both Texas and Florida with our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL.

We are looking to welcome an experienced Laboratory Director to join our Tampa team! Are you a seasoned Laboratory Director and Board Certified Pathologist? Or do you have a PhD with certification from The American Board of Clinical Chemistry or the American Board Medical Laboratory Immunology? If your answer is yes to either of those questions, you could be the perfect fit for our team.

Our rapidly growing laboratory division is seeking the leadership of a full-time in-house Laboratory Director with at least 10 years experience in moderate and high complexity testing (directed and performed).

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

This position requires working directly with our lab management team to oversee all operational processes at our labs located in Tampa, Florida and Dallas, Texas. We are seeking an individual that wants to be a part of a growing company and will lend to ideas to keep our laboratories as competitors in the market.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Working directly with our Laboratory Managers to ensure regulatory and operational processes are followed as mandated by CLIA/COLA, AHCA, Federal and State rules and laws
  • Serving as the Supervisor of the Laboratory Managers

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 10 years experience in a laboratory setting as Laboratory Director
  • Strong experience with toxicology and molecular genetic testing including:
  • Hematology
  • Toxicology
  • Routine Chemistry
  • Molecular Genetics
  • General Immunology
  • Knowledge of Managed Care, PPO, UB04, medical terminology, CPT4 codes, ICD9 codes, technical job knowledge, and Third Party payer requirements and reimbursement rules
  • Must have exceptional organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities
  • Superior communication and computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Worksheets Experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication along with good analytical skills of situations
