Insurance Verification Specialist

Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established and growing multidisciplinary integrated healthcare organization. We have multiple ASC, clinic, pharmpacy, and laboratory locations in both Texas and Florida with our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL.

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our surgical verifications team in providing a better healthcare experience. By simply doing what you do best, you can help patients reach better outcomes at PPOA.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying insurance information on new and follow-up patients and making corrections / updates information in system
  • Clearly communicating to the patient when a referral is required and is knowledgeable in determining when a patient visit requires a referral.
  • Informing patient to contact their primary care physician to obtain referral prior to the patient visit or instruct patient to bring referral at time of appointment.
  • Completing insurance verification on each patient and call patient back if unable to obtain verification with insurance carrier.
  • Working independently while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Obtaining authorization and pre-certifications for date of service
  • Must have experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Entering data information into system
  • Educating clinicians on scheduling protocol and guidelines

Qualifications

  • 3+ years medical authorization experience
  • Previous years experience in pain management clinics and ASCs within an out of network environment
  • High Degree of Professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task while producing accurate work
  • Prior experience with HMO, PPO, Commercial, Medicare insurances including out of network providers
  • Be very familiar with medical clearances as they relate to surgical patients
  • Excellent Customer Service
