Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established and growing multidisciplinary integrated healthcare organization. We have multiple locations in both Texas and Florida with our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL.

We are looking for an experienced surgical neurophysiologist (SN) to join our newly created neurophysiology division. As an organization, we are committed to providing the best care and we are proud to again be expanding the range of services available to patients. The SN will perform neurophysiological monitoring in the operating room to assist in assessing the functional integrity of the peripheral and/or central nervous system during, vascular, orthopedic, and neurosurgical operative procedures.


  • Set up and operate neurological monitoring equipment during procedures according to protocols and manufacture guidelines
  • Assess each surgical case and makes recommendations to the neurologist and primary surgeon concerning monitoring technique
  • Communicate and consult effectively with reading physician, surgeon, and other SNs to provide the most beneficial and comprehensive monitoring available
  • Prepare a patient file with waveforms, case documentation, and all necessary billing information
  • Gather pre-operative data and perform a multi-modality approach to all patients in accordance with ASET and PPOA policies while using monitoring techniques appropriate to the specific patient and surgery-type
  • Systematically record all data pertaining to neurological monitoring including but not limited to; anesthetic levels, vital signs, stimulation parameters, recording parameters and pertinent patient history
  • Ensure PPOA monitoring equipment is functioning properly and is maintained-- notify immediate supervisor of damage or malfunction of IONM equipment
  • Be a team-player—perform duties as directed by the IONM Director and bring a positive attitude
  • Follow safety standards to ensure safety for patients and staff
  • Credentialing Duties—apply for credentials at regional hospitals to expand business


  • CNIM, Bachelor’s degree OR registry in R. EEG T or R. EP T OR CAAHEP diploma
  • Experience with IONM cases
  • CPR certification
  • Current liability insurance
  • Relevant Knowledge of:
  • IOM technical ideas, requests, and equipment
  • all recording paradigms of intraoperative evoked potentials
  • artifactual data and methods to eliminate or monitor source of artifact
  • recording electrodes, stimulating electrodes, the recording instrument, operational, and electrical concepts

Flexibility with:

  • Preparation for surgical cases outside normal business hours
  • Working independently with little or no direction
