***We are looking for an experienced CPC Coder to join our team for a 3 month project on a temporary basis. By just doing what you do best, you will help patients receive better care and reach better outcomes at PPOA.***

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and audits daily charge tickets for correct CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS for multiple facilities
  • Assist with pre and post audits while maintaining compliance with the payer reimbursement policies and government regulations as well as Medicare/CMS guidelines
  • Monitors progress resulting from periodic audits and communicates with the Compliance Manager
  • Maintains required annual CEU’s
  • Maintains confidentiality in regards to patient account status and the financial affairs of the clinic/corporation
  • Work in a high volume medical coding and collections environment while maintaining exceptional standards of excellence
  • Performs coding for multiple Physician encounters at the stated minimum performance level
  • Analyze code, interpret, and compile medical information/records to document patient condition and treatment
  • Code, prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies via electronic and paper submissions
  • Must have exceptional organizational and computer technical skills and have the ability to set priorities
  • Excellent written, oral communication and analytical skills

Qualifications

 

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) 
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in medical coding/reimbursement
  • Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines
  • Knowledge of reimbursement systems, as well as federal, state and payer-specific regulation and polices pertaining to documentation, coding and billing
  • Knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and surgical procedures
  • Knowledge of the AAPC Standards of Ethical Coding
  • Ability to organize and effectively work on multiple projects at one time
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
