Medical Scribe - Part-time (Friday availability)

Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established AND growing integrated healthcare company. We manage a diverse set of medical ventures, specializing in pain management and surgery centers in both Texas and Florida. We are looking for an experienced Medical Scribe to join our team in providing excellent patient care.

The Medical Scribe position provides the opportunity to work first hand with medical providers. A Medical Scribe‘s core responsibility is to capture accurate and detailed documentation, mostly electronically, in the EHS at the direction of the provider.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the medical provider to be more efficient and productive
  • Enter data into patient’s electronic record; scanning and indexing documents accurately to patient’s electronic medical records
  • Take patient histories and vital signs
  • Transcribe the patient’s history and physical exam
  • Document consultations
  • Greet patients
  • Schedule appointments
  • Assist patients with ambulation, transfer to and from exam table as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned by Practice Manager, Physician, and Provider

Qualifications

  • Medical Scribe Certification preferred
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Minimum six months experience as a medical scribe
  • Working knowledge of EHR systems and proficient computer skills
  • Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in English
  • Pain Management Practice prior experience helpful
  • Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
  • Work productively in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to promote favorable clinic image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and general public
