    Contract Specialist 

    Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established AND growing integrated health organization with multiple sites in Texas and Florida. Our team of talented professionals covers the non-medical side of healthcare so our doctors can simply focus on providing the best patient care.

    We are looking for an experienced Contract Specialist who will be responsible for third party payer contracting and overall Payer Relations for PPOA. The Contract Specialist will negotiate and manage the third party payer contracting process as directed and provide internal payer relations direction/assistance to support the corporate initiative of PPOA.  This position will require travel as necessary and reports directly to Vice President of Payer Relations.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Negotiate third-party payer contracts, which includes but is not limited to healthcare practitioners, ambulatory surgery centers and ancillary providers.
    • Maintain good third-party payer relationships with the managed care community and governmental payers.
    • Lead meetings and contract discussions with Payers.
    • Coach/train Practice Managers, Administrators and ASC Business Office staff on managed care, contracts and reimbursement. 
    • Assist in analysis and recommendations for reimbursement and contracting strategies.
    • Comply with all PPOA policies and procedures.
    • Perform in a manner consistent with PPOA’s value and mission statements.
    • Conducts oversight and monitoring of all manage care contracts as needed.
    • Other job duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    Minimum 3 years’ experience directly related to managed care, third-party payer contracting, negotiations and the duties, responsibilities and skills specified in this Job Description.  Associates, Bachelor Degree, or equivalent experience required. 

     

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

     

    • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Knowledge of third party payers.
    • Negotiating, contract interpretation and drafting skills.
    • Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative accomplishing multiple tasks.
    • Ability to do presentations.
    • Ability to identify, anticipate and solve complex problems.
    • Resolve conflicts in a positive manner.
    • The ability to review and interpret applicable legal statutes and regulations as it relates to third party payer contracting/relations helpful
