    Lab Assistant

    Physician Partners of America (PPOA) is an established and growing integrated healthcare company. We have multiple locations in both Texas and Florida with our corporate headquarters in Tampa, FL.

    We are looking for an experienced Lab Assistant to join our team in providing a one-of-a-kind extraordinary patient experience!


    • Monitor laboratory specimens with careful attention-to-detail—receive specimens according to protocol, identify samples needing to be rejected, and notify Lab Manager/ Doctor’s Office if new samples are needed
    • Data entry
    • Ensure proper packaging and shipment of lab specimens
    • Perform laboratory specimen processing-- receiving, identifying, assigning accession numbers, sorting, preparation and internal laboratory distribution of buccal swabs, urine and other biological specimens
    • Deliver excellent customer service to vendors and customers
    • Promote a safe work environment for patients and staff through compliance with lab safety standards
    • Perform all duties using universal precautions and appropriate protective equipment as required to reduce exposure to infection, blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials
    • Follows CLIA guidelines
    • Moderate weight lift may be needed [up to 40 pounds]


    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • 1 year of medical lab experience or completion of laboratory assistant training program
    • Good computer software skills and knowledge
    • Excellent written, analytic, and oral communication skills
